now (as opposed to way-back-when) or that the documentation here:
I _think_ that what's happening may be that you get the normal clef modifier
(which normally comes before the barline where the clef changes) and this
appears at the end of the line (i.e. before the bar line) and then you get
the normal clef restatement at the start of the line.
