Documentation/GNUmakefile:283: $(outdir)/contributor.texi:
$(outdir)/ly-grammar.txt
The problem why this is creepier than the original rule is that
notation.texi is a generated file (from notation.tely) while
contributor.texi is an original file in our repository.

I am not sure how $(outdir) and VPATH and rules on the Makefile variable
MANUALS combine in that context.  At any rate, this would seem to
warrant some thorough testing to make sure that this works better than
before.
