That is a better way to write it, because the position of the turn adjusts if the line is tight or loose. If you use parallel music then the c2 can be full-length, which might be important for someone depending on midi. The documentation example should probably show a general solution, including accidentals that behave under transposition, and how to get the usual note-space for the turn. That makes the example complicated, but if it is easy for users to remove any unnecessary parts, extra detail does little harm.
