I saw the same thing, but it went away when I did a complete
rebuild from source. I think in this case lilypond-book is not
being rebuilt when it should be, but I personally just deleted the
build dir and rebuilt instead of investigating further.

This was a fresh build directory, with make/make doc. I'll try another - it
might be a sequencing thing.
