Of these 37071 lines, exactly 34111 are only from the font generation in mf/. When coding, that's no problem, because we are only interested in the warnings from flower/ and lily/. The font generation (and the docs generation in make) comes long after the interesting file have been compiled. I usually just kill make as soon as lilypond has been linked... Linking takes a while, so I have enough time to check the warnings in the console output above. If we could silence metafont a little bit (but keep the warnings and errors, just to be on the safe side), the build output would be much shorter.
