in @ref{node_name}, you can leave it as is in English if the target node name is also in English and the section is untranslated. If you translated the section, translate the @node node_name as well and change any @ref{} to it. Just as you previously did in manuals, you can translate the ref{} and the @node but leave the contents untranslated. Another option is to use the named variants of the ref macros which allow you to link to a node with a visible text customized so that it can be different from that of the node name itself. @ref{} is for sections in the same manual. -- Francisco Vila.
