using pdfsizeopt (http://code.google.com/p/pdfsizeopt/) it is possible, for example, to reduce the size of `notation.pdf' from 24MByte to 15MByte. I consider this quite impressive. [All used components of pdfsizeopt are freely available, but one of them (Multivalent) is not free in the GNU sense.] Wouldn't it be useful to add this to the build chain?
