As far as I can see, this is likely to have come out of the change Erik
Sandberg made to implement music streams.

Based on what I've read, I'd say that you're the expert on Figured Bass, and
we should make it do what you think is best.
Changing the default is not that big a deal, I think, as long as it's
documented in NEWS.
But this may require changes to the documentation as well.
