Doesn't matter if I try it with the above command, or a simple "open LilyPond.app"; it just gives me the next shell prompt without any messages. Unfortunately I don't have 10.5, so I can't test with that. :( I'll note in passing that 10.4 doesn't contain a /Systems/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5/ , which may or may not be the cause of this problem.
