The main argument for having `eps-box-padding' was vertical alignment
in LaTeX and texinfo documents due to bar numbers sticking out to the
left. However, the output is already aligned properly with lilypond
1.12.1 even without this option. Since a global value for
`eps-box-padding' is questionable anyway I suggest to mark
`--left-padding' as obsolete and change it to be a no-op.
Another bug in lilypond-book is its attempt to set the staff length
equal to the LaTeX line length. This no longer works correctly as
soon as bar numbers are displayed or instruments are specified, as
Laure describes in another email.
