I actually think that *none* of those issues, including the previous points in this email, are showstoppers. I confess that I've been one of the main people saying "we can't release .0 until it's perfect" in the past, but I've recently changed my position. 2.11.65 is so much better than 2.10.33 that it's ridiculous. For the past year we've been telling everybody to use/read 2.11.x instead of 2.10, but that only reaches people on -user. It's past time to shove 2.12 out the door. No, it won't be perfect, but we can follow it up with 2.12.1 soon thereafter. As Han-Wen said long ago (and I didn't listen), the question is not "is the development version prefect"; the question is "is it better than the previous stable version". Since the answer is an absolutely mind-boggling "yes", let's not delay it any longer.
