The French translation is screwed up. I can't imagine how they
missed the entire "keyboards" chapter, though...
The Program Usage manual says the files will be put in
"out-www/offline-root/", but it never made a directory by that name. I
That's because it died on the French translation. The individual
languages are built in
Documentation/*/out-www/
and if they all succeed, the files get copied to
out-www/offline-root.
All of this makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.
I normally just run "make web" in Documentation/user/, since I
never check the translated docs. Nothing gets put into
out-www/offline-root, but that's no problem for checking that the
english docs are working.
I tried this on the extra machine in my office and it exited without
errors. :) It took a lot longer to compile than my laptop (it's a much
older machine) but it worked perfectly. I think I'll always run from
inside this directory in the future. Thanks for the tip.
