Dear Matthias,
I have been trying to download your fabulous program, Lilypond, on
my G5 Mac;
It's actually not my program, although I'm proud to have made some
modest contributions to it.
I have been unsuccessful.
I get the following error message:
Processing `/Users/edwardtreisman/Desktop/Untitled.ly'
Parsing...
error: Incorrect lilypond version: 2.6.0 (2.7.38, 2.9.27)
That's simple: The \version declaration in the document created at
startup is not compatible with the version numbers accepted by the
program. Just change the "2.6.0" to something like "2.8.0". (There is
also an "Update syntax" command in the "Compile" menu to handle
complex cases, but in this case, it's not needed.
I'm Cc'ing this to the lilypond development team as a reminder that
the version number in Welcome-to-LilyPond-MacOS.ly is out of date and
needs to be updated. Good you caught this, because the next release is
imminent.
Matthias
