Jan, I think Han-Wen mentioned that you have made make web work under ubuntu.
Which gs and imagemagick are you using, and how did you install them?
BTW, a minor bug: configure doens't check for imagemagick/convert, but make
web requires that program.
For proper reference: can you build it in GUB? We do have a couple of
patches for GS 8.50
