The project Singing computer that allows singing lyrics typed in the LilyPond typesetting system is available for testing now.
Singing computer uses a speech synthesizer (Festival) to sing lyrics as defined in a LilyPond document. It defines new LilyPond commands that cause LilyPond to produce song description suitable for Festival input. The user can then listen to the song either by using a provided helper script or directly from Emacs or by performing the synthesis and playing steps himself. This is similar to using MIDI output in LilyPond. The project is primarily aimed at visually impaired users to allow them checking proper alignment of lyrics and notes in LilyPond documents. More information about the project as well as its sources can be found at http://www.freebsoft.org/singing-computer . Please note the project is still in a beta stage and may not work perfectly on the first try. _______________________________________________ lilypond-devel mailing list lilypond-devel@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/lilypond-devel
