of axes is '(1), the default for Y-offset is ly:side-position-interface::y-aligned-side

Just to be perfectly clear, the values from the code automagically "bubble up" and produce the Program Reference. Nothing bubbles up into the user manual.

There's currently a brief explanation of this in "changing defaults". I would love to have more/better explanations of how to use the Program Reference... perhaps after you've finished your opera? ;)
