I'm convinced. I'll keep doing what I've been doing.

I'm maintaining a Mac OS X LilyPond listing on VersionTracker.
I've been only submitting "stable" releases, but I can see an
argument for listing development branch release on there as well.
What would people like to see announced to the general Mac
download community?
I suggest not -- if somebody is interested in lilypond, they'll
come to the website
and find the devel versions themselves. If they only have a casual
interest,
they might not realize that lily 2.7.4 is unstable and had broken
triplets, resulting
in duplicate bug reports (and a lower reputation for lilypond).
