I would like to release this ASAP as Win32-0.28 to get it into 5.10 (and
maybe even into 5.8.9).

I don't think this is really related to what Jan has requested - so I'm replying only to the libwin list (and sparing everyone else the noise).

I notice that my (64-bit) build 820 of ActivePerl already reports that $Win32::VERSION is 0.28.

Also Win32-0.27_02 builds and tests fine on that 64-bit build 820, but it won't install:

------------------------------------------------
C:\_64\comp\Win32-0.27_02>nmake install

Microsoft (R) Program Maintenance Utility Version 7.00.8882
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1988-2000. All rights reserved.

Cannot forceunlink C:\_64\Perl820\lib\auto\Win32\Win32.dll: Permission denied at C:/_64/perl820/lib/File/Find.pm line 918
NMAKE : fatal error U1077: 'C:\_64\perl820\bin\perl.exe' : return code '0xd'
Stop.
------------------------------------------------

Is that to be expected ? Or is there something going on here that calls for an ActiveState bugzilla report ?

On the same AMD64 box (running Vista64 Business, btw), the Win32-0.27_02 module builds, tests and *installs* fine with (MinGW-built) 32-bit perl 5.8.8.

Cheers,
Rob
