I have attached a patch which implements this by adding an option for users to
disable the use of -nostdlib for C++ linking. The default is still using
-nostdlib and output_verbose_link_cmd so that only projects which have an
issue with the flag have the option to update.

I have found no issues with testing your patch, but it needs to be updated to
remove the second paragraph. Also, it would be nice if it referenced this
issue with a link. If you are okay with these updates, I will commit the
updated patch which is attached on the development branch.
