If you don't want to update yet, any of the following should work regardless: ./bootstrap --copy --force --gnulib-srcdir /path/to/gnulib GNULIB_SRCDIR=/path/to/gnulib ./bootstrap --copy --force Thanks for persevering with me, and sorry for the bugs.
