I've been experiencing problems on Tru64 with several packages that won't compile because of an unknown flag (-pthread) which seems to be passed by libtool from the compiler (cc) to the linker (ld). I'm having this problem right now trying to compile the latest apache2 on tru64 5.1b, and the same exact thing happens on several other packages, such as proftpd for example, and I've seen other people having this problem with mysql, but haven't seen a fix or workaround yet. How can I get around this problem without waiting for a new version to come out or a patch to be available?
