I'd prefer to have them removed.  They indeed cause a lot of grief
when checked into multiple CVS servers, and the very nature of these
files requires this.  Of course, people should only take these files
out of the libtool CVS repo using -kv, so that they don't get further
replaced when imported into other CVS trees, but nobody does that.
