Thanks for the tip. I looked at config.log and here is a portion from that error in there:
In file included from conftest.c:79:0: /usr/include/w32api/winsock2.h:1004:34: error: conflicting types for 'gethostname' WINSOCK_API_LINKAGE int WSAAPI gethostname(char *name,int namelen); I have attached the config.log file. I found a similar error reported for imagemagick and I think they did a patch for it.
