Update.

Akhiran -i dan apitan meN-i
-i suffixes and meN-i circumfix
all possible particles and possessive pronoun combination

What these do:
remove certain hyphens on words that ended with the letter i and those that
takes the suffix -i and circumfix meN-i
example:
   1) me-ra-wat-i-nya > me-ra-wati-nya
2) be-ra-ni-nya > be-rani-nya
This should not affect words that end with the letter i that takes the suffix
-kan and circumfix meN-kan
example
   1) be-ra-ni-kan > be-ra-ni-kan.

This is not the ideal solution, that requires a word list of all words that
would take the -i and meN-i affixes and/or a word list of words that ended with
the letter i. But it should work. (Theoretically. Need testing).

Hi Sharuzzaman,

No, I'm not in KL, and not expecting to be there anytime soon. I'll leave the
packaging details to you then? On recollection, I did use the files from
l10n-ms to get started the first time round, but they no longer work with
current versions.

Hi Bashirah,

OK, let's do this together. I'll try to find out how to properly package a
dictionary and let's built a beta version to be tested by Malaysian.

You may contact me off this mailing list if you want to.

By the way, are you somewhere around KL? If you are, maybe we can have a
face-to-face meeting with the open source people who might be interested to
join.

Thanks.

Long time ago, we already embarked on the project to provide native Malay
translation of the menu, and also dictionary for OpenOffice, but it was never
completed. The project is l10n-ms in sourceforge.
