As Impress slide shows typically are run full-screen, doesn't your problem then (simply) become one of displaying the whole contents of the screen (either the built-in one, or an external one if you have an external one connected) on the dome? So if you find some way to just display whatever is displayed on an external display onto the dome, it will work for whatever application windows happen to be visible on the screen at any moment.
