Please understand that posting at the developer mailing list will often result in a response asking you to show some work in this area. General discussions that are not backed up by code should be moved to the discuss mailing list or the user mailing list. If you want to work on this issues we are happy to provide you with some code pointers. As I already mentioned in my other mail IMHO the right solution is to provide an interface to R.
