I've pushed these now to master, I haven't gotten around to adapting the code yet to use them. For the custom properties tab its probably a custom widget and we'll just have a placeholder in the .ui that get replaced by the custom widget, so a scrolled window (or a GtkDrawingArea) is fine as a placeholder for those cases.
