Hello Alex,
I see the same message in github with other tags. E.g:
https://github.com/LibreOffice/core/commit/c4af5b1259bceea6e979e6fe2435dbee7a5a87c2
What about something like:
./g fetch --tags
./g checkout -b tag-libreoffice-24.2.0.0.alpha1 libreoffice-24.2.0.0.alpha1
./autogen.sh && make

On which env are you? If you're on Linux, did you follow
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/BuildingOnLinux ? (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development in general)
If not, what steps have you done precisely?
