I got a syntax error from sh/make with the latest version. The Makefile.in file has a command that runs through the shell with @. It uses \ to separate lines. It contains a comment on the second line that is not consumed by make and is not properly consumed by Bash.
https://github.com/LibreOffice/core/blob/master/Makefile.in#L63 I used sed to remove this line to successfully build: "/# if the systemd-detect-virt command/d" I can understand that perhaps another shell will correctly consume this, but on macOS latest this does not work.
