But even when thinking of the performance, I think the 'font history' part of the patch is non-controversial, right? :-) So I'd say, let's remove the option to show / hide the font history immediately (and show it always), and test the other part on some old h/w a bit before pushing - August, how does that sound, please? Another thing to remove from the font listbox would be the bitmap indicating the vector fonts; we do not show any bitmap fonts there any more (do we?), so it is shown for every font in the list.
