I don't understand where these commits go.
I re-pulled in 'ure' (actually everywhere using ./g pull) but I don't
see that commit. I'm on 'master', should I be using some other branch?

sounds like you are using the old 'deprecated' multi-git repo build, we
recently migrated to a single repo ( at least that's true for the source
code, however some help files and some other bits are still in separate
repos ) So.. looks like you need to clone a new repo, have a look at the
latest instructions http://www.libreoffice.org/get-involved/developers/
