This is not just the problem on the feature branch I am working on, but also on the master. I suspect this to be a problem in LO core rather than the widget. I reported the bug[1] here. As mentioned there seems to be some glitch in sw/source/uibase/uno/unotxdoc.cxx:3222 (?), when the clicked mouse pointer is dragged over the widget in view (non-edit) mode. I have attached the backtrace in the bug report.
