Probably irrelevant, but I was just reading the nightmare that the gtk+ plugin has become [ packed full of un-pleasant direct X calls avoiding gdk ], and I saw this nugget: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=623191#c8 I wouldn't be surprised if this was really the result of some of the horrible things we try to do to gtk+ when it is not looking rather than an underlying gtk+ bug but ... ;-) the testing does look pretty intense around there.
