I think we've (in fedora) seen stacks like this stretching back over a year or two. So I don't *think* this is new, I've never been able to reproduce it, so if its reliably happening for you it would be great to track it down. Perhaps some recent change shook something loose for you. Or (more likely) there's something about the contents of the save as... dir which triggers it.
