Thanks for acknowledging this.
A counter-argument could be that while the failure can be worked around by
disabling auto-update checks, I'd say that either an existing and experienced
user or, in particular, a user new to LibreOffice have no obvious
way/hint/indication of that fact.
With that, their experience will be very unwelcoming to say the least... :(
It's not like LibreOffice crashes and pops a friendly message saying "Hey, I've
crashed, but I won't if you change the settings like so and so"!
Respectfully sharing a counter-argument. Not insisting on the topic. :)
PS: Maybe this derives from the fact that I could not find a guide/reference
defining what a given severity means and how it should be applied to a
particular issue. Is there such a thing?
