While bug 122218 started with 6.1.4, as Xisco notes, at 6.3.0 patch for bug
124271 [1] changed rendering. Tomaž confirms HiDPI work on macOS for Retina now
needs additional work by LO to restore clarity. That is bundled in tdf#122218
