Apologies - work got in the way and then I forgot about this. I had a different
problem with an update of Libre Office (incredibly slow, jumpy scrolling of
large calc files) and so had to revert back to an earlier version to restore
normal functioning - currently running 5.2.7.2 with no problems and have not
updated the NVIDIA driver again to check if the empty cell problem recurs. I
will try to find the time to do this in the coming days, but I'm not sure how
relevant the results will be given the version of LO I'm using
