Bug ID: 97974
Summary: PNG 8-bit colormap files are printed as as black
rectangle
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.1.0.3 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer

Sample PNG file (8-bit colormap)
Problem description:
=======================
PNG files with 8-bit colormap in Writer documents are printed as a black
rectangle. This happens on all printer devices we had tried and on PDF
generator software as well (we used PDFcreator). It does not happen when
exporting a PDF by using the LO built-in PDF export.
Steps to reproduce:
======================
- Open with a new, empty writer document
- Place the attached PNG file on the page (or any other PNG in 8-bit colormap)
- Print the document on a printer
Additional notes:
====================
1) The files are (output of "file" command on a Linux host):
PNG image data, 236 x 206, 8-bit colormap, non-interlaced
If you convert the PNG to e. g.
PNG image data, 236 x 206, 8-bit/color RGBA, non-interlaced
or a different color palette or greyscale, the problem doesn't exist and the
print looks like expected and shows the image.
2) We used and printed those kind of images files in the last years without any
problem with previous LibreOffice versions (e. g. 4.4.5.2).
3) We rund the 32 Bit LO version on Windows 7 64-Bit.
