It seems the uninstall procedure tried to delete the program directory, but the delete operation did not complete for what ever reason, and left de program subdirectory in an unknown state. Anyway I also deleted the LibreOffice 5 directory, and then did a new attempt to install the new version, and this time I succeeded. Anyway, the procedure you advised in your first reply is not possible for Wind 8, 8.1 en 10.
