This is for me not reproducible with LO 4.3.3.2, Win 8, as described in the bug
report.

If I press the Enter key I get to the next line in the same cell but not to the
next cell.  But in this case the entered text in the second line is not visible
until you enlarge the table.  
To come to the next cell you need to press the Tab key or use the mouse and
this works for me a expected.

But is there maybe only a misunderstanding?
Does it really work for you to get to the next cell by using the Enter key?  Or
are you only entering text in the next line which is not visible until you
enlarge the table?

If you do not mean the next cell, but the next line then I would agree if you
enter text in a second line then the table row height should adjust
automatically.
