Summary: UI: UI unresponsive on large spreadsheet with a graph
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
Reporter: [email protected]

Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Component: Spreadsheet
Product: LibreOffice

The spreadsheet that displays the problem.
Problem description:
When a large spreadsheet (a few thousands of rows) with a graph is opened CPU
(a single core) gets 100% loaded and UI is unresponsive. This is apparent when
the graph is visible; it looks like the graph is redrawed all the time).
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the attached document. and try to navigate it - switch between tabs,
scroll the spreadsheets, etc.
Current behavior:
UI is unresponsive, I have to wait up to several minutes before the application
reacts to my actions.
Expected behavior:
The interface should be more responsive. The graph images can be cached
internally to optimize performance. The drawing itself can be optimized (e.g.
draw an approximate version with a reduced number of points and then gradually
update it to be more precise).
Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.2.4.2 release
