Priority: medium
Bug ID: 79258
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: UI: Hang before Save
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.2.0.4 release
Component: Writer
Product: LibreOffice
Problem description: When opening a new document after sometime, before save or
Save As,the screen output becomes unstable and it becomes very awkward to
actually Save the file.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open new document.
2. Continue to make document in the normal way (without saving)
3. After a period of time (keyboard inputs) the screen becomes unstable and
very difficult to break out of what appears to be a loop, to Save/Save As.
Current behavior: As described above.
Expected behavior: Either to be able to continue creating the document and
Save/Save As when ready, or a pop-out to give the option to Save/Save As,
before it gets into a loop or soon after starting to create the document.
Current work around for me is to try and close either the program or window
(using the X or right click in the task bar), it will then give me a pop-out to
ask if I wish to Save the document first. By doing this I am able to continue
creating the document without loss of content. Yes, I know I should Save the
document early on to prevent this and aid recovery due to crash etc, however.
Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 4.2.0.4 release
