It was not dropped, just the UI for it was removed. It is still possible to
install any feature combination form command line at the users' risk.

Windows Installer migrates the feature state when a package is upgraded. So if
a feature was uninstalled on 4.1, it won't be installed for 4.2 by default --
this is how Windows Installer works. Again, it can be overridden on the command
line, but why bother, when it is much easier to uninstall/reinstall.
