Brief document containing a sample of a web page containing multiple URLs

Problem description:
When opening or saving a document that contains URLs, an attempt (originated
from soffice.bin) to access (ping?) every single URL in the document is made
from the PC’s IP (port no. varies) to the URL’s IP on port 80.

In my case I have documents that contain tabular information with scores of
URLs (as they are copies from certain web pages).

I’ve tried having the firewall set up with soffice.bin as Blocked or Allow
Loopback, but this does not effectively deal with the requests and so even then
every single request has to timeout to enable soffice.bin to complete its
activity.

Of course, it would be possible to just allow soffice.bin to have Internet
access. But I don’t want to do this (I don’t like applications that really
don’t need Internet access be given such free rein and, in any event, it starts
to look like a Denial Of Service attack outbound from my PC).

Note that my main set-up is with Avast Free AV + Comodo Free FW. However I have
tried with Bitdefender Free AV + Comodo Free FW; Comodo Free FW with no AV;
Avast Free AV + ZoneAlarm Free FW. Same basic characteristics exhibited under
all combinations

Steps to reproduce:
1.Set firewall up to block Internet access for soffice.bin and log all such
attempts.
2.Copy & paste a web page containing URLs into new document.
3.Save new document.
4.Observe firewall activity in relation to soffice.bin

Current behavior:
See problem description above

Expected behavior:
Provide capability for LibreOffice settings (at least in respect of Writer) to
disable Internet access attempts (by soffice.bin), possibly by a toggle on/off
setting under Tools/Options.

Operating System: Windows 7
