But if I type 2.26.14 then the cell formating works as expected. The format 2-26-14 will be accepted as DATE in MySql, as well as the format 2.26.14 but in Libreoffice only 2.26.14 gets detected as date. All of these 2-26-14 , 2 26 14 , 2,26,14 got detected as strings. Perhaps this is the intended behaviour?
