Using a fixed size sounds plausible to me in general.
The logic for the window size is in the `SplashScreenWindow` ctor. From a quick
glance, it seems to be using the size of the bitmap for the window size as
well, which looks pretty "fixed"/static to me (only depends on the size of the
bitmap), so it's unclear to me how this can give the strange result you're
seeing.

I can't reproduce even with the "Remember Window Positions" [1] KWin script
installed and enabled, so have no further ideas now.

Closing as WORKSFORME for now. I'm open to adjusting the logic as needed
though, in case you want to investigate further in your setup.
