I suspect the main idea/point of the splash screen is to make the user aware
that LibreOffice is in the process of starting and to bridge the time until
LibreOffice is initialized and the main window shows up.

On my (developer, i.e. faster than average) machine, the startup is also
usually quite fast, but I've also seen ~10 seconds or more when starting
LibreOffice in my Windows VM after deleting the user profile (in which case
initialization takes longer) when the host system is more busy.

These are the message I see (on Linux, with qt6) when quickly adding stdout
output in `SplashScreen::setText` and starting with a new profile:

"Reinstalling all deployed packages..."
"Synchronizing repository for shared extensions"
"Synchronizing repository for bundled extensions"

(There might be more in other circumstances, seeing how the above-mentioned
method gets called could give more insights.)

For me, too, the text isn't normally displayed long enough to be actually able
to read it in the splash screen.

If the startup is very fast, there really doesn't seem to be a real reason to
keep it, but it may still be slow for people on more low-end hardware or in
specific setups, in which there might be a point in still having it. (So users
notice that "Something is already happening, LibreOffice is not broken and
refusing to start.")
I'd leave that to the UX/Design team to decide.
