            Bug ID: 174195
Summary: Libre Office Calc: Button action listener stops
receiving events after freezing rows or columns.
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 26.8.1.1 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Calc
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
In LibreOffice Calc, a button (FORMCONTROLS) created on a sheet and connected
to a Python UNO action listener works normally until rows or columns on that
sheet are frozen. After freezing, clicking the button no longer triggers the
button action - the EVENT LISTENER does not seem to receive the event. The
correct behaviour is restored if the rows and columns are unfrozen.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start LibreOffice Calc and create a new spreadsheet.
2. Create a sheet and add a button to the sheet. Set the execute action of the
button to run the “create_freeze_test” function of the attached python script
(LibreOfficeButtonEventHandlingTest.py).
3. Running this script by prsessing the button will result in a second sheet
being generated, itself containing a button called “Test Button”.
4. Clicking Test Button will result in the message “EVENT 1 RECEIVED” being
written to cell A5 of the sheet, and to the label property of the button.
Pressing the button several times will change the message, replacing the “1” in
the message by an incrementing count of the number of times the event has been
received.
5. Select cell B2, and then set menu option View → Freeze Rows and Columns.
6. Pressing the button now will provoke no response from the action listener –
the event count will remain unchanged.
7. Deselect the option View → Freeze Rows and Columns and the counting of
button presses will be restored.

Actual Results:
After rows or columns are frozen, clicking the button no longer triggers the
associated action listener.

Expected Results:
The button's action listener should continue to receive button events after
rows or columns are frozen.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Additional Info:
Reproducibility

Reproducible with the attached Python test script.
The problem was first observed in the version of Libre Office installed with
Linux Mint 22.3. The behaviour has also been observed in a current Flatpak of
Libre Office.

Technical observations
The behaviour suggests a possible problem in the interaction between Calc's
sheet controller, its view, and form-control event handling when frozen panes
are enabled. This is a hypothesis; the precise cause has not been established.

Test environment
    • Operating system: Linux Mint 22.3
    • Original LibreOffice version: 24.2.72
    • Flatpak LibreOffice version: 26.8.1.1
    • Installation/package type: Native Mint installation and Flatpak
    • Reproducible: Yes

Python test script will be attached once the bug has been filed.
