Bug ID: 174086
Summary: Table style not applied as a template-name with Table
- Convert - Text to table
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.8.0.0 alpha0+ master
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer

Karthik reworked a lot of the table styles in Writer for 26.8. Now the table
style is assigned as a template, so that when the table changes (rows/columns
added etc.) the template is re-applied to the table.
However, it looks like he missed reworking those changes into convert.cxx. When
converting text to table, the style is applied OK, but it is not assigned as a
template. So changes to the table are different than what happens with Table
Insert.
Of course, the user can always use the sidebar styles, or Table - AutoFormat
Styles to assign it as a template, but for consistency sake it should probably
be done immediately. I assume that a lot of complexity could be stripped away
from that code now.
Note that 'None' is an exception everywhere, so special care should be taken to
NOT assign None as a template. See bug 173936.
Inspiration for the fix should likely come form examining Karthik's 26.8
commits:

Steps to reproduce:
-convert some text into a table. Chose one of the coloured styles
-Table - AutoFormat Styles: it will not pre-select your style (Same thing with
the sidebar Styles.)
Other steps to reproduce
- insert some rows. They don't become banded rows - so you can easily see that
the table template is not re-applying after a change to the table.
