            Bug ID: 173570
Summary: FEATURE REQUEST: Allow full customization of the
Sidebar (adding/removing existing menu functions and
                    commands, similar to toolbars)
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: UI
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
Current Behavior:
In LibreOffice, the user interface allows extensive customization of normal
toolbars and menus via "Tools ▸ Customize". However, the Sidebar remains
technically rigid. Users can only show or hide the pre-defined default decks
(Properties, Styles, Navigator, Gallery, etc.). It is currently impossible to
add specific, already existing menu functions or commands directly as icons or
custom sections into the Sidebar.

Problem:
Many users prefer a clean workspace and want to group their most-used, standard
menu commands vertically on the side of the screen. The current
workaround—creating a custom vertical toolbar and docking it next to the
sidebar—lacks the flexibility, dynamic scaling, and collapsing features of the
native Sidebar. The inability to customize the sidebar like a normal toolbar
feels inconsistent and restrictive.

Requested Feature (Enhancement):
Extend the "Tools ▸ Customize" dialog to include the Sidebar.
Users should be able to:
1. Create custom panels/decks or custom icon rows within the Sidebar.
2. Add any existing LibreOffice menu function, command, or macro as an icon
directly into the Sidebar (just like in standard toolbars).
3. Rearrange and remove these icons freely to build a personalized vertical
quick-access panel.
